T44 Fabric and Textile Water Repellent – Ready to Use

T44 is a water-based hydrophobic, self-assembling treatment for water absorbative fabric and textiles. The product creates a high contact angle with water and shows a very effective water/liquid repellent effect. An easy to clean surface effect is created.

T44 dries transparent, it also preserves the breathability of the substrate. The treated surface is guarded against contamination from dirt, dust, soiling by organic and inorganic materials, and atmospheric pollution.

Surface Preparation

Surface must be clean, dry and free from wax, oils, other coatings and contaminants. 

Coverage depends on the properties of the material being treated. Coverage is approximately 50-200ml per square meter

Product Preparation

This product is Ready to Use (RTU).

Mixing

Cleanliness is important, during the dilution process care must be taken to avoid contamination with solvent-borne impregnating agents and tin-containing materials. Containers, hoses and pumps must be thoroughly inspected before use to avoid contamination.

Directions

Apply T44 diluted product to surface by spraying, dipping pr flow coating. It is also possible to add the product to a washing machine. If a washing machine is used, a rinse cycle should not be used, and the treated items should be dried in a clothes dryer afterwards.

Before applying to large surface areas, trials should be conducted to determine the optimum application method.

The product should always be tested on a small area first for suitability.

Curing

Allow to dry and protect from rain for at least 4 hours. Maximum effect is noticed after 48 hours of curing.

Temperature for surface preparation: 5C to 35C.

Avoid spraying in high wind. Overspray should be avoided, and areas not intended to be treated should be masked.

Cleaning

All tools and equipment can be cleaned with clean water.

Storage

Store in a tightly closed container in a cool, dry, dark space away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Always ensure container is resealed after user. Shake container well before each use. Use plastic containers ONLY.

Warning

Keep away from pets and children. If contact is made with eyes, flush with plenty of water for 15 minutes. If prolonged contact is made with skin, wash with soap and water.

Wear gloves, protective goggles and a face mask when working with this product.
