TimberGuard Professional Water Repellent – Concentrate

TimberGuard is a transparent nano treatment that bonds to the wood surfaces using nanobonds. TimberGuard dries transparent and does not visibly change the look or feel of the timber surface. Treated surfaces are vapour permeable and breathable. Good penetration into porous timber surfaces and creates a long-lasting water repellant surface.

Surface Preparation

Surface must be unpainted, clean, dry and free from wax, oils, other coatings and contaminants. New timber does not normally need special preparation.

Coverage depends on the properties of the timber being treated.

• 2 litres Concentrate ~ coverage 50 – 150m2
  
• 5 litres Concentrate ~ coverage 125 – 375m2

Product Preparation

Simply dilute one part concentrate to 4 parts water. Thus 1 litre of concentrate makes 5 litres of Ready to Use TimberGuard. Regular (clean) tap water will suffice. 

Mixing

Cleanliness is important=, during the dilution process care must be taken to avoid contamination with solvent-borne impregnating agents and tin-containing materials. Containers, hoses and pumps must be thoroughly inspected before use to avoid contamination.

Directions

Apply TimberGuard diluted product to surface with brush or by low pressure spray to saturate the surface. Hand-held or back-pack spray systems with a flexible pipe and wand with a spray nozzle, is suitable for large areas. Set the nozzle to deliver a small droplet spray. Vertical surfaces should be treated from the ground up. 

To assist with penetration, use a brush or soft broom to spread the formula. Allow the first coat to soak in fully, then apply a second light coat after 5-10 minutes, again to surface saturation. 

Some hardwoods and end-grains may benefit from a third coat, wet-on-wet.

Allow to dry and protect from rain for at least 4 hours. Maximum effect is noticed after 48 hours of curing.

Temperature for surface preparation: 5C to 35C.

Avoid spraying in high wind. Overspray should be avoided, and areas not intended to be treated should be masked.

Cleaning

All tools and equipment can be cleaned with clean water.

Storage

Store in a tightly closed container in a cool, dry, dark space away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Always ensure container is resealed after user. Shake container well before each use. Use plastic containers ONLY.

Warning

Keep away from pets and children. If contact is made with eyes, flush with plenty of water for 15 minutes. If prolonged contact is made with skin, wash with soap and water.

Wear gloves, protective goggles and a face mask when working with this product.
